Using my film camera I was taking pictures of eyes at an aperture of f/1.8. This aperture allows the photographer to get close and have a specific part of the image in focus, because the rest of the image quickly turns soft. This image stood out to me because her eyes are framed by a darker piece of cloth. The framing and the fact that her eyes are lighter than the rest of the picture helps draw the attention immediately to them. Since this image demonstrates economy of simplicity and because the eyes are framed, the image has a very strong center of interest.
